Common Questions
Can I drive with an expired DL while renewal is in process?
Strictly speaking, no. However, the Motor Vehicles Act allows a grace period of 30 days after DL expiry for filing renewal. If you have applied for renewal and have the receipt/acknowledgment, traffic police may show leniency. Best practice: Apply for renewal before DL expires. Download digital DL from DigiLocker once renewal is approved.
